1968 Excalibur SS Roadster

Industrial designer Brook Stevens designed the Excalibur as a show car for Studebaker. The car was a symbolic tribute to the classic Mercedes SSK and Studebaker’s role as the distributor of Mercedes automobiles in America. Mr. Stevens had visions of an Excalibur race series and Excalibur’s were made with many high performance engine options.

This car is a one owner example from Los Angeles. It is set up for touring and features SS (opening) doors, full fenders, and optional “turning” center mount driving light. Powered by a 327/300 hp Chevrolet engine with a three speed automatic transmission and a dual gate shifter.
