The 2002 was introduced to add a compact 2 door model to BMW's, New Class Sedans, line. The New Class Sedans were aimed at executive clients who demanded a well-appointed premium car. The 2002 has a cult following due to its sporty and high quality built..

Our 1975 BMW 2002 is a 3 owner local car. 2 of the owners were father and son who owned the car for 40 years! The third owner chased the car for many years before getting the call to come quick and bring cash. He's had it for around 5 years. Storage issues have pushed a thinning of his collection.

It is hard to overstate the condition of this car. The odometer shows just 24,788 miles which we believe is correct. We'd be surprised if the car ever spent a night out of a garage. Inside, outside, in the trunk, and under the hood, the paint and body are in very nice condition. We've surveyed the car with a paint meter and the paint appears to be all original. With the exception of a cracked dash cover and steering wheel, all of the interior trim and fabric is also quite nice.

Mechanically the original 101 hp M05 engine was replaced with a 107 hp M43 engine from a 320. The swap was done years ago. We have no information on what happened. The car runs and drives great. The tires are fresh.
