1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL

A Must See Time Capsule 190 SL
Introduced in 1955, the 190 SL was Mercedes-Benz's answer for a less expensive model compared to the 300 SL offered at the time. With a smaller engine and overall size, the 'little brother' to the 300 SL still had a big personality. Instead of having a direct injected six-cylinder, the 190 was equipped with a carbureted straight four that produced just over 105 horsepower and was able to reach top speeds of 107 mph. While not the fastest production Mercedes, the car made up for speed with a comfortable 4 wheel independent suspension. This combined with the open aired feeling and with the standard soft top made this the perfect vehicle for long distance cruising.
This particular 190 SL comes from an established dealer in California and has been meticulously restored to its near original state. Both doors, hood, and trunk lids line up perfectly on the car with no blemishes in sight. The interior is beautifully put together and everything works, right down to the original radio. The car drives exceptionally with the steering tight and the suspension tight but smooth as a cloud.
