The performance of the SLS is astonishing. The 6.2 Liter dual-overhead cam V8 produces a whopping 563 HP. It was the most powerful normally aspirated engine ever produced at the time and may still be. The SLS features dry sump lubrication, a 7 speed pedal shift transaxle and a carbon fiber driveshaft along with a magician's bag of other tricks. The combination made the SLS faster around the track than its supercar predecessor, the Mercedes McLaren SLR.
