The Mercedes-Benz 280SL was introduced before imported cars were mainstream in the US. It was a phenomenal success. Great reviews and great looks turned the 280 SLs into sales gold. Decades later the 'Pagodas' are still immensely popular with well-kept examples being one of the bestselling cars in the collector car marketplace.
